With the fresh copy of PHP distribution, I've found that there are too many unused blank lines inside configure script. BAD INTERPRETER message displayed at the beginning of configure script execution. In my humble opinion, the configure script should be fixed and remove the "weird" blank lines too reduce the size.

please add at least `head configure` to your report

regarding the "weird blank lines" i'm not sure what
you are refering to ... configure is not meant to
be human readable anyway, but from the blank lines
i can see in configure non look "weird" to me ?
