My C compiler (gcc version 2.95.3 20010315) reported a syntax error at line 93 of sapi/apache2filter/php_functions.c

I was able to build a working libphp4.so by commenting out the following code from the above file:

--------------------------------------
#if !MODULE_MAGIC_AT_LEAST(20020506,0)
                ADD_STRING(boundary);
#endif
--------------------------------------

This was using Apache 2.0.39 and configuring PHP with --with-apxs2=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs
