Bug summary semantic update ("Compile *for*
apache fails" not "apache compile fails")
 [2002-06-19 08:30 UTC] sniper@php.net
This bug has been fixed in CVS. You can grab a snapshot of the
CVS version at http://snaps.php.net/. In case this was a documentation
problem, the fix will show up soon at http://www.php.net/manual/.
In case this was a PHP.net website problem, the change will show
up on the PHP.net site and on the mirror sites.
Thank you for the report, and for helping us make PHP better.

Thanks for the quick response.

The reason I posted this bug is because an
advanced bugsearch with keywords "2.0.39", php
version "4.1.0" and "Bugs submitted yesteday"
showed no results. Thought you should know!

Thanks again,
-Matt

Bug still exists in CVS snapshot
php4-STABLE-200206190300 - I would prefer to use
the 4.2 code tree vs. 4.3 since I am in a
'semi-production' (development) environment.

Thanks!

The bugs are fixed in the NON-stable branch.
Do NOT open this report anymore.

You are running a production server with Apache2 and PHP? Do you realize that this combination is completely unstable? Unless you aren't using any PHP extensions, chances are that as soon as your server sees any load at all you will have all sorts of weird problems. I highly suggest using Apache 1.3.x if you want a stable production server.

I'm not using it in a production environment; I'm
using it for development on my own computer to
code for another server running 4.1.0. In other
words, it's okay for it to crash occasionally and
have weird bugs sometimes; I just don't need it
crashing every 5 minutes.

So far, it's worked perfectly for me - no bugs,
no crashes.
