Bug #16754 Apache fails to start with segmentation fault
Submitted: 2002-04-23 10:32 UTC Modified: 2002-04-23 21:00 UTC
From: ken dot gaul at becogent dot com Assigned:
Status: Closed Package: Apache2 related
PHP Version: 4.2.0 OS: RH Linux 7.2 (2.4.7-10)
Private report: No CVE-ID: None
[2002-04-23 10:32 UTC] ken dot gaul at becogent dot com
apachectl start segmentation faults. If the PHP LoadModule line is removed apache will start. Then it can be added back again and apache restarted or graceful restarted and it will work, but a stop and a start will fail.

./configure --with-oci8=$ORACLE_HOME --with-oracle=$ORACLE_HOME --with-apxs2=/usr/local/httpd2/bin/apxs

Note this is with apache 2.0 which I know is experimental but I thought you ought to know.

Back trace goes as follows

This bug has been fixed in CVS.

I just committed a fix for this in
sapi/apache2filter/sapi_apache2.c version 1.74
(from CVS HEAD). If you are still seeing the
problem after trying this version please reopen
this bug. Thank you for using Apache/PHP!

The file submitted to CVS fixed one problem, namely, Apache will now start up and service non-OCI PHP pages. But it still gives a segmentation fault when an OCI statement is used.

Unfortunately, I don't seem to be able to get it to dump core, so I have no other details.
