I have just installed a fresh machine with php-4.1.2, and found that under the [Logging] section of php.ini-dist, it says:

[Logging]
; These configuration directives are used by the example logging mechanism.
; See examples/README.logging for more explanation.
;logging.method = db
;logging.directory = /path/to/log/directory

However, I cannot find README.logging anywhere on my machine:

[mili:root]:/usr/local/src/php/php-4.1.2 # find / -name README.logging | wc -l
       0

Also, there is no 'examples' directory in either the directory created when untarring the source file, or /usr/local/lib/php.

These were some old example directives which were
only used by some script. You can ignore them.
(removed them in CVS)
