If I install on my system the bind497 package, it changes
some files in /usr/include :
netdb.h
resolv.h
arpa/inet.h
and more ...

But whit these news one, php fails to compile, reporting
a lot of syntax errors from language-parser.y,
for definitions in those header files...
After reinstalling the original ones, it works fine.

NB : I compiled few packges correctly after installing
bind, only php worries about syntax in netdb.h and inet.h.

An example of incorrect statement in netdb.h is

void           endhostent __P((void));
