Couldnt find it in the database so I thought I better add it.

$id = thread_create(function_or_object_method);
thread_stop($id);

* especially so that global vars etc. are available in the other threads.. - without resorting to shm + pcntl

similar to perl?/pike/python etc.

This would be useful for PHP-GTK apps. (albeit not essential) 
- although Its one of those be-carefull features :)
