Bug #14729 after phpinfo() is called, web page is still running...
Submitted: 2001-12-27 23:13 UTC Modified: 2001-12-28 11:50 UTC
From: wfottley at sympatico dot ca Assigned:
Status: Not a bug Package: IIS related
PHP Version: 4.1.0 OS: Windows XP
Private report: No CVE-ID: None
[2001-12-27 23:13 UTC] wfottley at sympatico dot ca
mysql, php 4.1.0, IIS 5.1
I have installed php as ISAPI. with the php .dll's in c:\windows\system32 dir. when I create a simple html with phpinfo() in it, I get all the info back, but down at the bottom, I can see "Opening page index.php at localhost.." for approx 5 minutes, and then the page returns with a DNS.

I call the page with "http://localhost/test/index.php"

I tested this same situation on another Windows XP machine: copied the php.ini file, and get the same "hanging"...

I don't want to try and run apache, I need IIS 5 to work.

Probably a netwrok/dns problem.

I'm sorry, this is not a DNS issue. when I mentioned I setup to Windows XP systems, I also used on on MY network at the office, and I can assure you, my office PC has no DNS issues. I even set everything to the "legit" address on my IIS: "beaktest.beak.com".
[2002-02-07 23:25 UTC] ollie at cronky dot net
It's not a DNS issue, as I get the same thing with the ISAPI module. The fix is to use the CGI module instead (PHP.EXE) or use a server (i.e. Win2K Server) rather than a client OS to serve your web pages!

(I know you prob. use XP for dev purposes - in that case you can use the cgi module - as you don't have any scalability worries).
