When compiling PHP 3.0.8 as an apache shared module using apxs, the compile dies with the following error:

apxs -c -o libphp3.so -L/usr/local/lib            -Wl,'-rpath /usr/lib/mysql' -L/usr/lib/mysql -lmysqlclient                    -lz               -lgdbm      -lgd -lpam -lm -ldl -lcrypt -lnsl  -lresolv mod_php3.c libmodphp3-so.a 
apxs:Error: Unknown option: W
Usage: apxs -g -n <modname>
       apxs -q <query> ...
       apxs -c [-o <dsofile>] [-D <name>[=<value>]] [-I <incdir>]
               [-L <libdir>] [-l <libname>] <files> ...
       apxs -i [-a] [-n <modname>] <dsofile> ...
make: *** [libphp3.so] Error 1

As per the INSTALL docs, you need at least Apache version 1.3.4 for the
apxs build to work.  Version 1.3.6 is preferable.
