HINT: You should not be using a $

WRONG : $this->$items['foo']='test';
RIGHT : $this->items['foo']='test';

WRONG : echo $test->$items['bar']; (unless you had a global items array with items['bar'] = "items['foo']")
RIGHT : echo $test->items['bar'];
