PHP Version: 3.0.7 OS: Redhat Linux 5.2

The mysql module escapes various characters like " by adding a \ before the character to be escaped. The Sybase module does not escape the ' character by prepending an extra ' as it should do, causing Sybase to complain.

Actually, the mysql module doesn't do any escaping. This is handled
1by the magic_quotes settings in your php3.ini (or Apache configuration),
1and there's a special flag to do the quoting Sybase-style (called
1magic_quotes_sybase, if memory serves me right).

Jim's answer should take care of this appropriately.
