I can reproduce the same bugs using Win2K SP2, Apache 1.3.20 and the PHP snapshot of 2001/06/07. Apache is configured to use PHP module. From the snapshot, I replaced php.exe & php4ts.dll.

`dir` just crashes Apache as many times as you want;

exec("start notepad") & system("start notepad") print "Unable to fork";

exec("notepad") hangs Apache and a Notepad process can't be deleted from the task manager.

By the way, when those bugs are solved, will it be possible to launch a program like Word, Excel or Wordpad?

Could you please try a newer snapshot from zend.com?

the link "Download Latest PHP 4.0 development snapshot." does NOT work.

And on page http://www.zend.com/snapshots/, latest snap is of 7th june!

Where can I DL the latest one?

I've executed this script:

	exec("calc.exe");
?>

A new calc.exe process is started, but no window appears and IE keeps "opening" the script! I click on stop icon. The script is stopped, but the calc process is still there. I can't kill it, although I'm logged with Admin. privs.

Why is it impossible to run GUI apps ?
