I use php4.0.4 as CGI on Windows 2000 Advanced Server. If I don't include php_mssql70.dll in php.ini everything works perfect. When I try to include it I receive the error Warning : Unable to load dynamic library 'C:\php\extensions\php_mssql70.dll' - The specified module could not be found.

However I tried the same on Windows 2000 Server (not Advanced) and it works!?!
Is there any difference or can be the reason in some of the Hot Fixes that are installed on the Advanced Server?

If you don have the client tools for MSSQL Server installed on the server, the php extension will not load.

You get the client tools from the SQL Server CD or by copying the file ntwdblib.dll to \winnt\system32.

I recoment that you install the tools from the CD. This will allow you to configure protocols, server aliases and other parameters.
