There is no mention of uninstalling or upgrading php with new modules in the documentation - maybe i'm just having a hardtime trying to reinstall, but there does seem to be a deficiancy...

Also, it would be cool if someone could incorperate make uninstall into the make scripts.

Cant you just rm the php dir and then make; make install.. thats why I normally do, install to /php-4.0.2 and then symlink /php to it, I can then install 4.0.3 to /php-4.0.3, test it in this dir and then just change the symlink.

What do other people think about this info.. is there any real need for it??

Not really a docu bug.. changing to feature request.
