This bug is not related to PHP itself but to the redis extension (and cannot reaffected it)

This issue has been resolved long ago.  Latest redis (5.3.4) is
supposed to be compatible with PHP 7 and 8.

Also note that the redis bugtracker is on Github[1] for a while
now.
