Sorry, but your problem does not imply a bug in PHP itself. For a
list of more appropriate places to ask for help using PHP, please
visit http://www.php.net/support.php as this bug system is not the
appropriate forum for asking support questions. Due to the volume
of reports we can not explain in detail here why your report is not
a bug. The support channels will be able to provide an explanation
for you.

Thank you for your interest in PHP.

Not a PHP problem. Try a clean PHP build on your system again.

Not an answer. Not related to the question. Yes a bug in libxml extension which is
not compatibile with new libxml2 libs.

What Felipe said is correct. It builds just fine using 2.9.0 (be unix or windows).

Try again using a clean build (read: either download 5.4.x again or do a
buildconf, configure, etc.).

I never said it does not build!
/usr/bin/php: undefined symbol: xmlTextReaderSetup
is obviosly runtime crash not a build problem (which does not happen when build
against very old libxml2 2.6.26)
I always do clean build.
