when compiling with ./configure --with-apxs=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs --with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql the compilation is terminated with an error:

Are you using the binary MySQL RPMs? If yes, don't specify --with-mysql so that the bundled MySQL will be used.
