Hi, BZIP2 1.0.2 returns with an error message when trying to unpack php-4.2.3.tar.bz2 downloaded from php.net. Also tested with bz2 archives downloaded from 3 different mirrors. BZIP2 version 0.9.5d (OLDER) unpacks successfully. Error message: bzip2: Data integrity error when decompressing. Input file = php-4.2.3.tar.bz2, output file = php-4.2.3.tar It is possible that the compressed file(s) have become corrupted. You can use the -tvv option to test integrity of such files. You can use the `bzip2recover' program to attempt to recover data from undamaged sections of corrupted files. bzip2: Deleting output file php-4.2.3.tar, if it exists. moose:/export/installs/software# bzip2 --help bzip2, a block-sorting file compressor.
