I' ll try to make php4 the compiler says: 
 
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lcrypto 
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status 
 
I have both libcrypt.a and libcrypt.so in /usr/lib. I run configure with: 
 
./configure --with-mysql --with-apxs --with-kerberos --with-openssl --with-imap --with-imap-ssl
