Have you tried PHP 4.0.4pl1 (or preferrably the latest CVS snapshot from to check if this is 'fixed' in them?

Does this happen with some specific script ?

No feedback. If this happens also with soon to be released PHP 4.0.5, reopen this bug report with a short example
script which can be used to reproduce this.
