The only way it can pass a NULL value to array_merge() is if the call to uploadprogress_get_info() returns NULL, which typically means that it can't find the identifier.

I'm unable to reproduce this, but I've updated the code so that the example uses the latest uploadprogress version, and the check-progress.php script now responds with a 500 server error, if it detects a problem. You can look in the network tab of your browser's developer console to see the error responses.
