Consider the following file tree examples:




In both but not least cases will be very hand if the open_basedir can be set to a specific file instead of owning directory. I.e. instead of './user' specify './src/config.ini' or for the 2nd example './backups/' to allow php to write a specific file (or folder) to a specific location.
