We automate MS Word 97 via PHP COM feature directly. We successfully put english text into Word Document. However, all chinese character (double-bytes character) has been changed to other character when passing into MS Word.

Later on, I write a VB COM to automate MS word so that php automate MS Word indirectly via that additional COM object. Information is passed to the COM object and the COM object passes information into MS Word. Chinese character still altered.

There is no problem when I rewrite all the related php page using asp.

It seems to be something between COM and PHP does not handle double-byte character correctly.

This should be fixed in CVS now.
