When PHP is compiled with the --enable-trans-sid option and Cookies are not available, it puts the current session id as GET option to all links. Unfortunately, functions that are used to display the images in phpinfo() don't like to be called with any options (http://mysite/info.php?=PHPE95...&PHPSESSID=.....) and thus cannot be displayed at all.

phpinfo() isn't supposed to be used for anything
but debugging. If you need to have phpinfo() somewhere,
don't use session_start() or session_register() on same
