Description:
------------
If the body (msg) of the email starts with 'fe', the mail isn't sent. mail() show success, but mail is not received. If I change the 'fe' so something else, it works fine.

PHP version if Fedora 19 php 5.5.7

Test script:
---------------
    $email_to = "cmeyer@cesa10.k12.wi.us";
    $email_cc = "it@cesa10.k12.wi.us";
    $email_subject = "Backup Verification";
    $email_body = "fe\r\n"; // <- seems to work fine but no mail delivered
//    $email_body = "mfe"\r\n"; <- works fine and mail delivered
    $headers = "From: backup@cesa10.k12.wi.us\n";

    if (!mail($email_to, $email_subject, $email_body, $headers))
    { print "Email failed\n"; }
    else
    { print "Email success\n"; }

Expected result:
----------------
mail should be received

Actual result:
--------------
mail not received, though mail() does not return an error.

Not to ask a silly question, but have you already checked that spam filters aren't rejecting the mail, or that it's not otherwise being filtered out of view?

Good question on spam filters. No, I'm not seeing anything show up in the spam filters. Also, this is a pretty direct internal show, avoiding most of our spam filters.

Can you get the mail server's sysadmin to tell you whether it received any kind of connection from your system? That can at least tell you which server the problem is on (since, as you've probably guessed, my first inclination is that this oddly-specific problem is not due to a bug with PHP).
Another thing to check is, depending on your setup, whether mail() simply queued the email with the local sendmail client and whether that client itself had any errors trying to send.
