I've no Mac to test. But a fix is pushed, could you please test from trunk?

I update from trunk. 2 errors are remaining:

duplicate symbol _default_varnish_handlers in:
    .libs/varnish.o
    .libs/varnish_lib.o
duplicate symbol _default_varnish_handlers in:
    .libs/varnish.o
    .libs/exception.o
ld: 2 duplicate symbols for architecture x86_64
clang: error: linker command failed with exit code 1 (use -v to see invocation)
make: *** [varnish.la] Error 1

Did you do make clean before rebuilding? The old object file would still have that symbols if you didn't. After clean rebuild under linux i see

$ nm .libs/varnish.o | grep handlers
00000068 C default_varnish_handlers
         U zend_get_std_object_handlers
$ nm .libs/varnish_lib.o | grep handlers

so silence. As varnish_lib.c actually doesn't reference that variable anymore.
