Description:
------------
Two issues:
First, setting parameters in my php.net doesn't work, nothing gets saved.
Second, the autocomplete feature in http://php.net/search.php is frustrating. Previously I could type a function name from any documentation page in the search box and go straight to it. Now I'm always taken to http://php.net/search.php where I have to type the function name again. Hitting return doesn't work, I'm just taken right back to the same page. I have to use the mouse to click on one of the suggestions from the generated list.

When did it stop saving your my php.net settings?
I don't remember any changes to that for years and years.

Also, as for the search; You may want to try the beta mode of the site as it has
much better autocomplete: http://php.net/?beta=1

I tried the php.net settings because of the trouble I was having with the search. That page has a link to the settings and a message about turning the autocomplete function. As for the beta page, the documentation link takes me to the same search page that's been giving me trouble. Maybe I'm missing something. I use the website for function reference. I start out at http://www.php.net/manual/en/ which takes me to the PHP Manual page. From there I'll use the search box to lookup a function. For now, as a workaround, I've been using the quickref.php page but I prefer the search page because of its added functionality.

The new beta has changed how the search. It is nice to get a list of functions to choose from.

However, if you are searching by topic you simply get returned to the page telling you about the new auto-complete. Even if you select documentation instead of functions. Type in 'function parameters' and you will simply get the auto-complete notice again.

The auto-complete notice page says you turn this off by going to MyPhp and setting the preferences. But when I set beta to disabled it doesn't change the behavior.

Searches I was doing on php.net yesterday I have to do on google today.

Thanks,
-Tom

The php.net/my issue was fixed the other day. It was due, in part, to a filter
not properly passing cookie data.

As for autocomplete, it's working as expected. If the issue continues, please
reopen this bug and give full details on your browser, operating system, and
versions of both.

Thank you for your report.
