CURLOPT_SSLVERSION can be set to 1 for TLSv1, see also Bug #62318 regarding the convenient constants.

The german Translation of the CURLOPT_SSLVERSION section is misleading, in that one could assume the examples are an exhaustive list. I'd suggest 

"Beispiele fuer eine gueltige Zertifikatsliste sind RC4-SHA oder TLSv1.

This bug has been fixed in the documentation's XML sources. Since the
online and downloadable versions of the documentation need some time
to get updated, we would like to ask you to be a bit patient.
