0.1.10 and 0.1.11 do not build on OS X, saying "malloc.h: No such file or 
directory". 0.1.9 built fine.

My understanding is that malloc.h is not used on OS X. If I remove the line 
'#include "malloc.h"' from hidef.c, it compiles.

Anyway, that line is wrong on other systems too: it should be '#include 
<malloc.h>' since malloc.h is a system header, not a file in your project.
