cURL has the ability to add form fields whose content is only
available once the upload commences, using CURLFORM_STREAM

It would be interesting to make available a way to add file
streams instead of file names when doing file uploads, e.g.
files that are in the process of being downloaded themselves,
saving the temporary storage required for them.
