I couldn't make the PDO nor PDO_MYSQL with PECL. Installed 
pear, php-dev etc. nothing worked.

PHP5.3 includes PDO module.
Then, you don't install it. Moreover, if you do "perl 
install pdo", this error message will appear.
 
First, you try to enable mysql_pdo module.

[php.ini]
extension=mysql_pdo.so

Then, restart web server software.
