after downloading the source, unpacking and running configure 
(succesfully, the make command fails on this error:

/root/gearman-0.6.0/php_gearman.c:910: error: expected 
specifier-qualifier-list before 'gearman_st'

full contents of configure and make commands and their output

Opppss. Does help if you read other peoples tickets.

Incase anyone reads this, it is fixed in SVN.
