AC_MSG_NOTICE() is undefined in autoconf 2.13, which is the recommended version to use with PHP.

You should use AC_MSG_RESULT (or AC_MSG_CHECKING) instead.

Reproduce code:
Index: config.m4
--- config.m4	(r?vision 290392)
+++ config.m4	(copie de travail)
@@ -16,7 +16,7 @@
 if test -r $PHP_CURL/include/curl/easy.h; then
-	AC_MSG_NOTICE(curl headers found in $PHP_CURL)
+	AC_MSG_RESULT(curl headers found in $PHP_CURL)
 	AC_MSG_CHECKING(for cURL in default path)
 	for i in /usr/local /usr; do

Actual result:
Configuring for:
PHP Api Version:         20090626
Zend Module Api No:      20090626
Zend Extension Api No:   220090626
