DTrace does not compile on Mac, however, someone did create 
this:

http://blog.leenux.org.uk/dtrace-stuff/dtrace-with-php-on-osx/

So perhaps changes there can be merged here.

Please update the link Philip or post the relevant issues that araise when you try to compile with DTrace, is it still present in the newest version of PHP?

Actually it compiles on Mac OS X (10.11).
