I usually run with STRICT message on i.e. error_reporting  =  E_ALL | E_NOTICE | E_STRICT
 in php.ini, 
and when I do so I get a message from SAM on every receive:

PHP Strict Standards:  Creating default object from empty value in C:\php\PEAR\S
AM\Stomp\sam_stomp.php on line 523

(I might have changed the line number by messing with the file)

This can be fixed quickly and dirtily with a @ in front of the line:
@$sammsg->header->$key = $value ;
