When trying to read BLOB contents with $lob->read() or $lob->load() both functions return empty string.

If I comment
#define HAVE_OCI_LOB_READ2 1
in config.h
and thus OCILobRead() is used insted of OCILobRead2(), the bug disappears.

Conditions:
Linux Mandriva 2006, Oracle 10g XE and 9i, OIC-10.1.0.4, PHP-4.4.2, OCI8-1.2.1.

New info:
When I recompiled oci8 against locally installed Oracle 10g XE, the bug disappeared.
Previously oci8 was compiled against Oracle Instant Client 10.1.0.4.
Does this mean that the bug is in the OIC?

Most likely yes, because I cannot reproduce it with OIC 10.1.0.3 and Oracle 9.x native client.
But I still need atleast to reproduce it to be sure.

I tried the latest CVS and I tried to install the patch, neither worked for me? Maybe I'm doing something wrong, been known to happen!

When I ran $ patch > oci8_lob.diff I got a message " I can't seem to find a patch in there anywhere."

I still can't see my BLOB field...
