PDO_MYSQL-1.0.1/config.m4 does not define $SED before line 53 (where it is first used).

This causes the PDO_MYSQL_INCLUDE, PDO_MYSQL_LIBS to be misassigned even if "mysql_config" exists, causing configure to fail.

Defining $SED or replacing with /bin/sed fixes this and allows to configure and build cleanly.

Reproduce code:
tar -xf PDO_MYSQL.tar
cd PDO_MYSQL-1.0.1

Expected result:
Configure should succeed. =)

Actual result:
checking for MySQL support for PDO... yes, shared
checking for mysql_config... /usr/bin/mysql_config
./configure: line 3038: -e: command not found
./configure: line 3039: -e: command not found
checking for mysql_query in -lmysqlclient... no
configure: error: mysql_query missing!?

I ran into the same problem and solve it this way:

set SED shell variable to sed

add this line:

before this line:
if test $ac_cv_lib_mysqlclient_mysql_query = yes; then

a bit crude,
but hey, it works!:D

Thank you for taking the time to report a problem with PHP.
Unfortunately you are not using a current version of PHP --
the problem might already be fixed. Please download a new
PHP version from

If you are able to reproduce the bug with one of the latest
versions of PHP, please change the PHP version on this bug report
to the version you tested and change the status back to "Open".
Again, thank you for your continued support of PECL.

Should be fixed with current PHP
