--with-mcrypt does not compile against latest versions of libmcrypt (tried 2.3.3 and 2.4.4) - undeclared and redefined preprocessor constants and cast errors in function calls.

If it can't/won't be updated, then it should at least be documented that libmcrypt 2.2.7 is the only available version that will work - otherwise it's only natural for users to try with the latest versions.
