The svn.php.net website is not indexed in Google or other search engines.

It is stopped by the robots.txt file:

http://svn.php.net/robots.txt

 User-agent: *
 Disallow: /

The issue is this makes "svn.php.net" unsearchable and makes it more difficult to find code.

http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=site:svn.php.net

Assuming this is done on purpose, what was the reason for this?

Surely you'd want to make it as easy as possible for people to contribute to the code...
