--with-mcrypt
Apache won't start

no --with-mcrypt

all is well. I have tried this with a number of different libmcrypt versions.

Everything else in the install seems to indicate that all is well

Please provide the ./configure line you used to
compile php, and the version(s) of libmcrypt you
tried. Have you tried providing the absolute path
to libmcrypt in the config line

--with-mcrypt=/your/libmcrypt/path

This works fine on my rhl6.2 box.
