gzuncompress in the latest CVS builds (part of zlib) isn't really gzip; it's
the deflate method (it doesn't have the GZIP header and trailer attached).

While it's good to have deflate available, it should be correctly named, and it would be *really* nice to have a gzip (with headers and trailers) in memory function available, so a tempfile isn't necessary.
