Error occurs with the following environments:

Win98
WinNT4 with sp5 or sp6
PHP4 RC1 and 4.0.0
Apache 1.3.12

When I try to call a simple test page or any PHP4 page for that matter I get the following errors.

Page EXAMPLE -
<HTML>
<?php
echo("Text generated by <EM>PHP</EM>.");
phpinfo();
?>
</HTML>

Dr Watson error "An Application error has occured in PHP.exe Exception access violation(0XC0000005), Address:0X100765d6"

Click OK and I get the following browser error "500 Internal Server Error - The Server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to
complete your request."

It seems that having a value in the "doc_root" parameter in the "Paths and Directories" section of the php.ini file caused the access violation.

"Fix"
We left the the "doc_root" parameter blank and let the document root be set from the Apache httpd.conf file.

Please grab http://toye.php.net/~zeev/php-4.0.1-dev-Win32-June17.zip

The crash bug should be fixed now. Make sure that you either set doc_root in your php.ini file or that your Apache DocumentRoot is set to the correct directory.

If you still encounter this bug then please open a new bug report. (Make sure you erase all old php4ts.dll's from your system before using the new version).
