Description:
------------
According to http://php.net/manual/en/function.date.php, date formatting offers two formats for Ante meridiem and Post meridiem:

a Lowercase Ante meridiem and Post meridiem am or pm
A Uppercase Ante meridiem and Post meridiem AM or PM

The Associated Press (AP) Stylebook specifies that these are to be written with a third format: "a.m." or "p.m." (lower case "am" and "pm" but with periods).

Please add this format to the possible time formats for Ante meridiem and Post meridiem.

This issue is by now more than 7 years old and targets an unsupported version of PHP.

As it is a very special usecase that can be achieved in userland code using f.e. str_replace('m', '.m.', $date->format('a')) I'm closing this.
