I've been trying to compile and install PHP5 (using 5.2.9 as well as latest CVS) with Apache 2.2.11, but I'm getting an error upon make install.

ERROR:
Installing PHP SAPI module:       apache2handler

make: 1254-004 The error code from the last command is 1.

It seems it deletes libphp5.so but doesnt copy the new lib, so it exits when trying to chmod an unexistent file.

CONFIGURE OPTIONS:
./configure --with-apxs2=/opt/jakarta/apache2.2/bin/apxs --prefix=/opt/jakarta/php5.2.9 --with-libxml-dir=/usr/lib

CVS SNAPSHOT:
php5.2-200905290630

OS:
AIX 5.3

LIBTOOL VERSION
libtool --version

Checked other similar bugs, but the solutions of them doesnt seem to work for me.

Reproduce code:

./configure --with-apxs2=/opt/jakarta/apache2.2/bin/apxs --prefix=/opt/jakarta/php5.2.9 --with-libxml-dir=/usr/lib ; make ; make install

Expected result:
----------------
PHP 5 should be installed

Actual result:
--------------
chmod 755 /opt/jakarta/apache2.2/modules/libphp5.so
chmod: /opt/jakarta/apache2.2/modules/libphp5.so: A file or directory in the path name does not exist.
apxs:Error: Command failed with rc=65536
