configure: error: xml2-config not found. Please check your libxml2 installation.

FROM shell SCRIPT:
root@compaq-presario:~/Documents/PHP/php-5.2.9# ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/php --with-apxs2=/usr/bin/apxs2 --with-mysql=/usr/share/mysql --enable-magic-quotes

checked package manager == YES [and I re-Installed]!!!

Expected result:

SUCCESS and on to "make"

Either you didn't install the devel (rpm?) package which has xml2-config script or it's not in your PATH. Either or, it's not a PHP bug.
