I havwe set up PHP4 using instructions given in the 'readme.txt' file. PHP4 runs well in dos, but no in browser mode.

Please try PHP 4.0.0 and see if the problem persists.  If it does, please submit a new bug report, and specify what exactly you're experiencing when you try to access a .php page from a browser, and any other relevant information you think of.
