ssl connection fails.
related configureoptions 
used: --with-openssl=shared --with-curl=shared

Reproduce code:
<? fsockopen(ssl://, 443,, , 30);?>

Expected result:
no output -> would mean all is okay

Actual result:
Warning: fsockopen(): unable to connect to ssl:// 
(Unable to find the socket transport "ssl" - did you forget to enable 
it when you configured PHP?) in /root/test.php on line 1

okay my fault; did forget to enable the in php.ini
