Running Redhat 6.0

On the 4.0 beta version install, with the Apache rpm:

configure can't find the httpd.h file, because Redhat
changed the directory structure. Even specifying the directory in the --with-apache= directive won't work, because the directory structure has been totaly flattened.

This should be a pretty common configuration

This has never worked. You need to use --with-apxs against apache-devel rpms.
If you want to build a static module using --with-apache you are going to need a real
source tarball.
