Description:
------------
Some users of the php.net website, specifically blind users, are excluded from participation in bug reporting due to the use of CAPTCHA. You can find an example of this on page bugs.php.net/report.php.

The instructions are, "CAPTCHA: Type into this box... (help) If this image is hard to read, reload the page."

These instructions do not help blind and visually impaired people. No matter how many times they reload the page, the CAPTCHA image will not be readable.

Furthermore, the "help" link is useless. It simply displays the following text:

"CAPTCHA Help
Some forms on the PHP Bugs website use CAPTCHAs in order to avoid our getting spammed.

"This page provides further information once you view a form which requires a CAPTCHA."'

Please change to a form of CAPTCHA that does not discriminate against people who have sensory deficits. If you do not know how to do this, feel free to contact me and I will try to help.

By the way, in case you believe this problem affects only blind people, just wait until you get a little older and your eyesight deteriorates!

We always welcome all the help we possible can get.

And for the record, our CAPTCHA does not only affect
blind, visually impaired or old people.. We _all_ have
problems reading the ******* images.

Coming to think about it, is there really a that big audience thats programming if you're blind? I know its a weakness in our system that we don't use something like reCAPTCHA but is it a that high demand?

Not a big audience, but we may as well join the 2000's and use a more friendly approach. reCaptcha being implemented sounds fine to me. Not exactly sure how the reCaptcha "private key" would work for us exactly (in CVS) but it being revealed is not a major problem.

How does the new style of captcha work for blind / visually impaired now?
