I have the same error after i installed flex 2.5.4 and bison 1.28.
I can't do "make" for generate php files, i have this error
       yacc  /usr/local/php-4.4.2/ext/standard/parsedate.y

 yacc: 1285-742 The escape is not valid or expect is not a reserved word. Line 154
make: 1254-004 The error code from the last command is 1.

Please do not submit the same bug more than once. An existing
bug report already describes this very problem. Even if you feel
that your issue is somewhat different, the resolution is likely
to be the same.
